Next in the new Coolpix line-up is the slimline 7.1-megapixel S7c featuring a large 3-inch LCD, Vibration Reduction, sensitivity to ISO 1600 and WI-FI capability. Nikon Corporation is releasing a new model to the market: the COOLPIX S7c. A slim, sophisticated digital compact camera, it packs good looks and great performance into compact dimensions, while offering the advantage of vibration reduction and innovations for in-camera image improvement.

The PowerShot G7 delivers the image quality and optical performance demanded by advanced photographers. A 10.0 Megapixel sensor captures enough fine detail to ensure large photo quality prints with added cropping flexibility. The fast f/2.8 (W) – f/4.8 (T) 6x optical zoom lens (35-210mm focal length, 35mm equivalent) incorporates optical Image Stabilizer technology to counteract the effects of camera shake, allowing the camera to be used at slower shutter speeds in low light conditions. The lens configuration consists of 9 elements in 7 groups and includes a double-sided aspherical lens element to counteract common lens distortions

As we knew all along the leaks were fairly accurate, Nikon has today announced the six megapixel, compact, 'entry level' D40 digital SLR. This new digital SLR loses some of the D50's features but gains some new ones from the D80. Headline details are a new Multi-CAM530 three area AF sensor, 3D Color Matrix Metering II, custom Auto ISO (same as D80), 2.5 fps continuous shooting, no status LCD and in-camera retouching. The D40 also has lots of nice user interface touches designed to make using the camera an easier experience for first time users. We have a production D40 and have produced a detailed hands-on preview in anticipation of a full review in the next few weeks.
