Empire Ballroom is a different beast from other nightclubs in Las Vegas, most of which reside within tremendous, corporate casinos. Independently owned, operated and located outside of any resort, the club carries on the tradition of its predecessor, the landmark Club Utopia.

After a few years of vacancy, Empire Ballroom reinvigorated the independent, Strip property with a complete makeover, designed by the Paul Steelman Group. With multiple rooms, including a crystal chandelier-adorned main room, a cozy VIP lounge and a Strip-facing outdoor patio, the club feels like an expansive, lush party house.

The most successful nights at the club are the “Late Night Empire” after-hours parties thrown by Gino LoPinto, one of the pioneers of Utopia, every weekend. Every week, "Late Night Empire" brings in some of the nation's top DJs, as well as well-respected local favorites.

“I absolutely love playing 'Late Night Empire' because it's one of the only places in town where I can really let loose and bang it out,” says DJ Robert Oleysyck, one of Utopia’s original residents. “The vibe and the people there are fantastic.”

The main room, decorated in rich reds and browns, featured overstuffed couches surrounding its large dance floor, all of which faces Empire's main stage. Main room DJs spin from the stage, a sign that the club focuses as much on music as it does on style or service.

On the upper balcony level, there are eight private cabanas. That level also provides access to the patio, which plays hosts to house DJs and offers amazing views of Las Vegas.

Empire continues to be a popular music venue as well, hosting such bands as Bad Religion, Veruca Salt, and most notably, the Killers, who played the 1,500-capacity club as a warm-up for their 2006 fall tour.
